Did you ever just let the phone ring? It's a hard thing to do. Before the days of caller ID, you almost couldn't let the phone go unanswered. Letting the phone ring is much easier now that nearly everyone has a caller ID. If you don't want to talk to the person calling, you simply didn't answer. However, if your caller ID doesn't list the person calling and only shows the number, what do you do? You can turn to a telephone number lookup for help.
Many caller ID units will at least display the state that is calling if the number is from outside the local area. If the call is from a cell phone, the display will usually show the city of registry as well as the number. Once you have that information, it is easy to get the rest. All you have to do is find an internet search site that specializes in performing reverse searches. All you have to do is enter the number and click the mouse.
If you use a free telephone number lookup site, you will get back the name and perhaps an address associated with the number. If the call came from a cell phone then you will probably just get the carrier and location, but no name or address. If you want more detailed information then you will have to use a premium site. Premium sites charge a slight fee in order to maintain their huge directory database. The information you get back will be very detailed and contain not only an address, but also information related to the person or company's background.
